This project is a tribute reimagining of Masters of the Universe, created as a personal exploration of how I would approach official movie key art if tasked with designing for the franchise today.
I grew up with Masters of the Universe, from the original 1983 animated series to the 1987 live-action film, so when the new movie was announced, I wanted to revisit the property through a modern cinematic lens while honoring its retro roots. The goal was to blend classic fantasy iconography, character-driven composition, and bold theatrical scale with contemporary color grading, lighting, and finish.
This piece leans into epic ensemble storytelling, iconic villain presence, and painterly texture, balancing nostalgia with modern blockbuster sensibilities. The final artwork was extended across multiple real-world applications to explore how the key art could live beyond a single one-sheet.
This is a fan-made tribute concept and not official key art.
