Here’s a custom theatrical key art poster concept I designed for Fantastic Four: First Steps, built to explore a more cinematic, character-driven campaign direction for the film’s marketing rollout.
The goal was to create a hero composition that felt both nostalgic to the franchise’s legacy while modernizing the visual tone to align with today’s Marvel theatrical branding. I focused on dynamic team staging, layered cosmic lighting, and a unified silhouette framed within the iconic “4” structure to reinforce brand identity without overwhelming the layout.
Each character was positioned to create motion flow across the poster. From Reed Richards’ stretch pose anchoring the foreground, to Johnny Storm’s flame arc creating energy through the composition, balanced by Sue Storm’s illuminated presence and Ben Grimm’s grounded power stance.
To better support the overall color harmony and contrast within the piece, I subtly customized and enhanced elements of Mister Fantastic and The Thing’s costumes. These adjustments were designed to integrate more seamlessly with the poster’s lighting environment, background textures, and tonal palette while still preserving the recognizable core identity of each character.
Additional world-building elements were also integrated, including hidden silhouettes and lore references to expand the narrative scale without distracting from the core team focus.
The project was presented as a full marketing rollout, including theatrical lightbox mockups, studio campaign placements, and collector packaging applications to showcase real-world deployment.
Designed as part of my ongoing entertainment branding and key art exploration work.
