An alternative teaser poster exploration for Toy Story 5 centered around the evolving conflict between traditional imaginative play and emerging technology.
Rather than recreating the familiar hero-pose ensemble format, this concept leans into a more cinematic and thematic direction — presenting the story as a generational clash:
Toys vs Tech.
The primary teaser focuses on Woody in silhouette, contrasted against bold color blocking inspired by classic Pixar palettes — while subtly introducing the looming presence of the new tech antagonist through abstract form and negative space.
The secondary poster explores a darker, more stylized tone — positioning Buzz Lightyear as a lone defender against an encroaching digital force. Neon lighting, glitch textures, and vaporized energy effects reflect the technological threat overtaking the traditional toy world.
Together, the posters showcase two contrasting marketing approaches:
• Graphic / editorial teaser
• Cinematic / stylized character spotlight
Mockups were developed to present the work in real-world theatrical and print environments, reinforcing how the campaign could live across outdoor, retail, and promotional placements.
